The Official Play
Houston Astros -125— playable through -135
Best confirmed market price displayed: -130
BetMGM: -135
Houston draws Grayson Rodriguez, who enters with an 8.54 ERA and 1.79 WHIP. Houston’s lineup has also produced a .287 expected batting average against him in prior matchups, while left-handed hitters have punished him particularly hard this season.
The concern is Houston starter Hayden Wesneski, who is making his first major-league appearance in roughly 15 months following Tommy John surgery. His rehab work was encouraging—21 strikeouts and four walks over 20 innings—but Houston will likely monitor his workload. That keeps this at one unit, not a larger position.
Houston’s offense has been productive on the road, the Astros have won six of their last seven entering the series finale, and the late-inning bullpen gives them the better path once the starters exit.
Official play: Astros ML, 1 unit
Betting range: -125 to -135
Pass at -140 or higher.
WNBA Board
There are interesting arguments for Dallas and Golden State, but not enough clarity at the current numbers to make either an official Square Tax play.
Dallas has won seven of eight, but Atlanta has already beaten the Wings twice this season, and the market has moved through multiple sides and numbers today. Golden State has won nine of its last ten, but the spread is already around the edge of the playable range and late injury questions remain.
WNBA decision: Pass.
Square Tip of the Day
A pitching mismatch does not automatically justify any price. Houston is playable because the number remains reasonable. Once it reaches -140, much of the value disappears.
We bet numbers—not teams. Price is paramount.
