College Football Night Card

The afternoon wasn’t kind to us.

Notre Dame did what we expected offensively, getting into the high 30s, but the defense gave up far more than anticipated and the cover never got there.

That’s part of betting.

We don’t chase losses. We reset the board and handicap the night slate on its own merits.

Tonight, two new Official Plays are locked inside the Tax Code, along with additional premium positions.

TONIGHT’S FREE PLAY

Washington +7.5 at USC

Getting more than a touchdown with Washington is enough to get our attention.

USC can score. Nobody is questioning that.

The question is whether its defense can create enough separation to justify laying 7.5 against a Washington team capable of moving the football and, more importantly, bringing a substantially better defensive unit into this matchup.

That creates a very reasonable path to a one-score game.

We don’t need Washington to win outright.

We need them to stay within more than a touchdown.

LONG SHOT LOUNGE — BEER MONEY ONLY

For entertainment only. This is not an Official Play and does not count toward The Square Tax record. It’s a small-stakes, high-upside parlay built from a few underdogs or plus-money angles we think have a legitimate path to hit.

Rutgers +24.5 vs. Indiana

Indiana is clearly the better team.

But asking them to win by more than three touchdowns is another question entirely.

Rutgers gets a massive cushion, and Indiana has not consistently played like a team we want laying this kind of number.

Colorado +13.5 vs. Texas Tech

Nearly two touchdowns at home in Boulder.

Texas Tech deserves to be favored, but this number gives Colorado plenty of room to lose the game and still do its job for us.

Utah State +19.5 at Boise State

Another big number.

Boise is the better team, but Utah State gets almost three touchdowns to stay competitive enough to cover.

LONG SHOT LOUNGE PARLAY

Rutgers +24.5
Colorado +13.5
Utah State +19.5

Tiny stake. Big cushion. Beer-money purposes only.

BYU AT TCU

The market movement toward TCU caught our attention throughout the day.

BYU had been laying a larger number earlier, and the consensus is now approximately BYU -5.5.

Market movement alone never makes a play, but it’s something we take seriously when it agrees with other pieces of the handicap.

Full position available inside the Tax Code.
